Full-time faculty member for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral SciencesThis position will provide psycho-oncology services for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center that may include mental health screenings, psychological assessment in addition to individual and family therapy

Education:

PsyD. or Ph.D.is required Florida license to practice psychology required

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A record of accomplishment in mentoring students is highly desirable.

  • Post-doctoral training in psycho-oncology is highly preferred.

  • Experience with the evaluation of culturally diverse populations is highly preferred.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Position assignment will be:

Provide mental health screenings and conduct brief psychological interventions

  • Provide mental health services, including psychological assessment, psychological testing, family and group therapy and behavioral management.

  • Identify patients that require psychiatric evaluation.

Supervision Received:

Reports to the Department Medical Director of Psycho-Oncology for SCCC.

Additional Skills and Experience

Experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students, residents and post-doctoral students is an important part of expected responsibilities.

Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:

  • Experience working with cancer patients preferred.

  • Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
