Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology - Division of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Gynecologic Sub-Specialties

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology to serve as a full-time Gynecology physician at our USC Verdugo Hills outpatient clinic and hospital. The faculty position would be a part of the Division of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Gynecologic Sub-Specialties. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is also committed to serving the underserved population in East Los Angeles through our affiliation with Los Angeles General Medical Center (formerly known as LAC+USC).

Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient and surgical care of gynecology patients:

  • Preventive Care & Screenings Conducting annual well-woman exams, breast exams, and cervical cancer screenings as needed
  • Sexual & Reproductive Health Diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections (STIs), menstrual disorders, and pelvic pain.
  • Family Planning Advising on birth control options, managing contraception, and assessing fertility concerns.
  • Menopause management Diagnosis, evaluation and symptom management such as hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and non-hormonal medications
  • Gynecologic Surgery Performing both minimally invasive and complex
  • Scope of Work Supervise a nurse practitioner in clinic; Perform thorough medical history and physical; timely completion of detailed and accurate documentation of assessment, including updated problem lists and care plans for each patient encounter; complete orders and perform appropriate tests analysis, and diagnostic procedures as required and recommended by an evidence-based practice; administer and prescribe appropriate treatments and medications; minimum daily patient threshold

Qualifications:

  • MD degree with completion of a 4-year ACGME accredited Ob/Gyn residency
  • Board Certified i Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • The successful candidate is expected to apply for a CA medical license and be licensed to practice medicine in California by the time of appointment.

The position offers a salary with excellent university benefits and an academic appointment at the Keck School of Medicine of USC commensurate with the level of training and experience. The annual base salary for this position is $260,000-$290,000, which is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
