REMARKS: The University of Rochester School of Nursing is seeking a faculty candidate for the Nurse Practitioner program. Candidates must have professional licensure, relevant professional clinical experience, and experience with professional education, education technology, program development, and project management. Candidates must have a record of scholarly work, a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, and teaching experience. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Clinical faculty are eligible for promotion along the clinical track.

The School of Nursing offers nationally accredited baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. One of a small number of nursing schools to be designated as an Apple Distinguished School and endorsed by the International Nursing Association for Clinical and Simulation Learning (INACSL), the University of Rochester School of Nursing prepares nurses for healthcare challenges in the twenty-first century.

The Unification Model directs nursing education, research, and practice. Unification is a philosophical approach and an organizational structure that operationalizes the interdependence among education, research, and practice. Education empowers nurses with knowledge, attitudes, and skills for leadership in professional practice and research. Research develops nursing knowledge to strengthen education and promote evidence-based practice. The practice of nursing is care delivery that promotes continued excellence through the generation of new research questions and the enrichment of the educational experience. The ongoing interaction of education, research, and practice advances the discipline of nursing and the health of our nation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Teach in the Nurse Practitioner program.

· Participate in program faculty meetings, faculty development opportunities and faculty committees as needed or selected.

· Assist in development of course materials and assessment practices and/ or assist in student clinical assessments; grading of assignments, exams, and care plans.

· Serve as a resource/advisor/mentor for students, including degree planning and academic counseling.

· Support efforts to recruit and retain students by participation in applicant evaluations, attending school events, and ongoing partnership with school personnel in service of our mission.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

· Earned doctoral degree

· Current NYS RN licensure

· NP certification – any specialty

· Demonstrated record of clinical experience

· Demonstrated record of academic teaching

· Superior interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate program level and experience in online learning strongly preferred

· Experience with professional nursing education, education technology, program development, and project management
