The Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a nine-month academic appointment for a 3-year renewable term beginning September 2027.
The base salary range for this position will be $12,000 - $14,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a world-class research program, teach chemistry programs that are innovative and inclusive, and engage in service that benefits the University and community.
The successful candidate will join the Department at an exciting time, with a new state-of-the-art chemistry building under construction that will provide modern research and teaching facilities and further strengthen opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in chemistry or a related field by the date of appointment.
