Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at Dartmouth invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry. We seek applicants who will establish nationally recognized research programs with innovation in organic chemistry, with potential applicability towards, but not limited to, organic synthesis, reaction methodology, and catalysis. Qualified candidates should be prepared to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in organic chemistry.

This position includes opportunities to collaborate on research projects within the department and with other Dartmouth researchers, including those at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Dartmouth Cancer Center, Thayer School of Engineering, or the Irving Institute for Energy and Society. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are supported by the Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies, including their community initiativesWe are especially interested in applicants who will contribute to Dartmouth research mentoring initiatives such as Early Research Access in the Sciences, the E.E. Just STEM Scholars Program and other Scholar Programs in STEM

Qualifications

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Responsibilities include research and classroom teaching for undergraduate and graduate students.
