Job Description

The Yale University Department of History intends to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in Modern (post-1911) Chinese History to begin on July 1, 2026. Applicants should have strong potential for excellence and achievement in scholarship and in undergraduate and graduate teaching. The successful candidate will offer general and specific courses in Modern Chinese History.

Qualifications

We welcome applications from historians who already hold teaching positions, as well as recent Ph.D.s and those who expect their Ph.D. or equivalent degree by the time of appointment.
