The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) has active research programs in pure mathematics, computational and applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, probability and statistics, and mathematics education. Applications are invited for one Tenure Track Assistant Professor position to join the Department and contribute to the Mathematical Computer Science group. The group has research strengths in combinatorics, graph theory, probability, computability, algorithms and theoretical computer science. The ideal candidate will have research interests that relates to these fields, or includes a computation, formalization or other relevant component. The Department is also interested in researchers who can bridge between research groups and link these computational techniques with other areas of the mathematical sciences.
The position is effective August 16, 2027 and the salary is negotiable in the range $115,000 - $135,000. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics, computer science or related field, an outstanding research record, and evidence of strong teaching ability. Final authorization of the positions is subject to the availability of funding. UIC faculty are expected to carry out their responsibilities in person and onsite as part of a vibrant and collegial on-campus community.

Duties & Responsibilities
Teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, advise students, do research in area of expertise, participate in the intellectual life of the Department and University, and provide service to the University.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
