Advertised Job Summary

USCB invites applications for a full-time, professional-track position at the rank of Instructor to begin August 2027.

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track teaching, research, and service position. Candidates must be willing to teach undergraduate Public Health courses related to internships, Health Behavior, Health Inequalities, Health Promotion, among other Public Health courses in both online and traditional settings. Candidates must possess a doctorate in Public Health or closely related field; ABD will be considered with degree conferred by time of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate the potential or ability to conduct scholarly research of sufficient quality and quantity to satisfy USCB guidelines for a tenure-track position. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is desired. Salary is commensurate and competitive with qualifications and experience.

Teaching load of four courses in fall semester and four courses in the spring semester each year in the Public Health & Human Services department is expected. However, teaching load can vary across the semesters so incumbent may be assigned additional duties related to Internship Coordination for the Department of Public Health & Human Services (PHHS) Duties of the Internship Coordination include, but are not limited to organizing, coordinating, and facilitating the operations to place, measure, and track internship effectiveness. Highly effective communication strategies with students and community organization leaders are expected. Additional responsibilities include support to the Chair of PHHS and other duties as assigned.

This is a tenure-track appointment that may be renewed contingent upon approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.

Required Education and Experience

PhD in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Public Administration, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline with expertise in Public Health and/or Human Services.
