
The McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure line Assistant Professor position in Public Management. We are a rapidly growing policy school in the heart of Washington DC, which includes a diverse mix of scholars from economics, political science, sociology, public administration, and other domains. We seek a scholar who will contribute to, and thrive in, our vibrant inter-disciplinary research community.
We are looking for candidates with a career trajectory for a high level of academic success in public management, including presenting at and publishing in respected public management, public administration and policy implementation outlets. We will consider outstanding candidates with any area of research focus in the functioning of public services and implementation of policy. Expertise in the following areas is welcomed but not required: environment and sustainability, social policy and inequality, immigration and migration, or artificial intelligence.
We offer an undergraduate program and a variety of graduate programs. Successful candidates are expected to teach in both programs, specifically comparative public management, public management, as well as other elective courses in their own areas of research interest.
Applicants should have a PhD in public management, public administration, public affairs, political science, public policy or a related field. Candidates for a position at the Assistant Professor rank must have completed or expect to complete their Ph.D. by the start date of August 1, 2027.

The projected salary for this position is $101,165-$115,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
