Title Assistant Professor in Computer Science Appointment Status Tenure Track Department IU South Bend Computer Science Location South Bend Position Summary

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Indiana University South Bend welcomes applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position beginning August 1, 2027. We seek candidates who have earned, or are nearing completion of, a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field, with research interests, experience, and demonstrated contributions in Artificial Intelligence.

The successful candidate will contribute to our academic mission through teaching, scholarship, and service. The full-time load (100% FTE) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester, with one course reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, contribute to service, and have an active scholarship program. Faculty may be required to teach online and nonstandard hours. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Basic Qualifications

Required: Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field by August 1, 2027. Teaching experience in computer science. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred: Ph.D. in Computer Science with AI research experience. Ability to teach core computer science courses at multiple levels. Ability to teach online classes
