
Job Title: Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence.
The Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Artificial Intelligence, starting Fall 2026. The selected candidate will focus on research and teaching in Artificial Intelligence and its applications. The role includes undergraduate and graduate teaching and active engagement with industry and business communities. The successful applicant will be part of the Bachelor's and Master's programs within the Information Technology department and may also collaborate with other related programs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Graduated with a Ph.D. from a reputable university
Outstanding teaching record
Outstanding research and publications record in top journals
Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis papers
A record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage
Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities
Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), or a closely related field from a reputable university
Outstanding teaching record in AI-related courses
Strong publication record in top-tier AI and data science journals/conferences
Adequate experience supervising student projects, capstones, and graduate theses
A record of collaborative, interdisciplinary, and funded research is an advantage
Evidence of community service and scholarly activities
Experience with AI tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms is preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning Operations, AI for Robotics and related areas
Engage in innovative, technology-enhanced, and student-centred teaching methods
Participate in departmental, college, and university committees
Actively engage in promoting the growth of the Ajman University
Ability to provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community.
Assess and track each student's progress and give feedback to support ongoing success.
Contribute to the growth and visibility of Ajman University through teaching, research, and service
Provide consultancy and applied research support to industry and community partners
Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable journals and conferences
Ensure a respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive learning environment
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships across the University
Mentor and motivate students and colleagues to achieve academic and professional success
Continuously update teaching materials and methods to align with AI advancements
Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success
Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives
Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system
Ability to supervise student work
Ability to provide academic advising for students
Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences
Ability to work effectively with diverse team members
Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
