The Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry (http://mbb.yale.edu/) at Yale University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Quantitative and Computational Biophysics and Biochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor. This search will focus on candidates with innovative quantitative and computational research programs that will advance our understanding of biomolecular and cellular processes. Research programs that combine experimental and computational approaches are welcome. The Department, which is a member of both the Yale Faculty of Arts & Sciences and the Yale School of Medicine, pursues a broad range of basic and applied research topics that contribute to the undergraduate teaching and medical research missions of the University. Applications from candidates interested in Yale priority areas (see the University-Wide Science Strategic Plan and the Yale School of Medicine Research Strategic Planning), are especially encouraged.
The Department is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, service, and interactions with other departments, will contribute to the excellence of the academic community across multiple dimensions.
The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027.
Applicants must have met the requirements for a PhD or equivalent degree at time of hire in quantitative and computational biophysics and biochemistry or a related field. Communication skills conducive to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels are necessary.
Applicants should create a profile on Interfolio https://apply.interfolio.com/193444 and upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of current and future research plans (3 page maximum), teaching statement (1 page maximum, with attachments such as syllabi allowed), and up to 5 reprints of papers published or in press, and 3 confidential letters of evaluation.
