Pediatric General Clinician Educator (Open Rank) Opportunity:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time General Pediatric Clinician Educator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians dedicated to advancing care for children.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and engage in meaningful clinical care across UTMB’s Regional Women Services and Pediatrics (RWSP) clinics across the Houston area.

Primary clinical responsibilities include providing coverage in general pediatric and supporting the Houston Region for the Regional Women Services and Pediatrics (RWSP) clinics by providing essential prescriptive authority and clinical oversight for the Pediatrics APPs serving the surrounding clinics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • This full-time academic role combines clinical care and education within a collaborative health system. The successful candidate will:
  • Provide comprehensive general pediatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical and educational missions.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in General Pediatrics.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • Five years of clinical experience.
  • Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.

Commensurate salary with experience
