
The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time academic breast surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), with an anticipated start date of Summer/Fall 2027 with the opportunity to build a clinically active and academically meaningful career within a leading academic health system and cancer center. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30). Associate Professors WOT and Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July-June). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

As with all University of Washington faculty, the individual will be expected to contribute to teaching, research, and service while developing an area of scholarly expertise in consultation with the Division and Section Chiefs. This work will be supported by the robust academic and research infrastructure of the University of Washington Department of Surgery and Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
