Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine is currently recruiting for the following Acute Services positions affiliated with Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Yale-New Haven Hospital is the major teaching and clinical research facility of the Yale University School of Medicine and consistently ranks among the best hospitals in the United States. Yale-New Haven Hospital encompasses the Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital a 118 bed, acute care, psychiatric facility that consists of five main inpatient programs and several specialized step-down intensive outpatient/day hospital programs for adolescents and adults across two hospital campus locations. These positions carry a faculty appointment within the Department of Psychiatry at the assistant or associate professor level depending upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Inpatient psychiatrist for our adult, transitional age youth, and adolescent unit at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. The successful candidate will be BE/BC inchild and adolescent psychiatry, strong clinical and teaching skills, and demonstrated ability for scholarship. Child and adolescent training is preferred but not required.

Emergency Psychiatrist to provide emergency psychiatry care throughout the YNHH system. The successful candidate will be BE/BC, addictions fellowship preferred, with an interest in developing scholarship in areas related to emergency psychiatry and the provision of MAT in the psychiatric emergency setting. Opportunities to expand the role beyond the emergency department exists.
