Responsibilities will include participation in both the academic and research missions of the Tulane Department of Surgery. In addition to clinical duties, it is incumbent to have a strong interest and active participation in the education of fellows, residents and medical students. The candidate is expected to participate in developing and expanding academic, clinical and basic research activities devoted to the surgical evaluation and management of colorectal surgery. A track record of academic productivity is required as the candidate will be involved actively in the research and academic mission of the division.
Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates should have satisfactorily completed a training program in general surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education(ACGME) and be board certified and eligible for licensure in Louisiana. Candidates should have the academic experience to meet the relevant academic appointment level. Fellowship training is required in a colorectal surgery program. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong clinical capabilities in the surgical care of patients with colon and rectal diseases.
