The Assistant Professor of Biostatistics provides leadership and expertise in statistical design, data analysis, and collaborative research activities across interdisciplinary projects. This position partners with investigators, faculty, and research teams to support grant development, study implementation, data interpretation, and scientific dissemination. The faculty member will also contribute to statistical methodology research, mentor junior biostatisticians and trainees, and participate in educational and service activities within the department and university community.


Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.

  • Experience applying advanced statistical and research methods in collaborative research settings.

  • Strong computing and programming skills, including extensive experience with SAS and/or R.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated record of scholarly activity or strong potential for collaborative research and publications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling, study design, and data analysis methodologies.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary research teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to mentor and supervise staff, students, and trainees.

  • Ability to manage multiple research projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong presentation, teaching, and scientific writing skills.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in statistical design and data analysis for research activities,

  • Serve as a collaborative investigator on grant applications, study implementation,

  • and data analysis for scientific dissemination through publications and presentations,

  • Supervise, mentor, and direct staff biostatisticians,

  • Contribute to the education and training of students, fellows, and faculty members in the areas of statistical design and analysis,

  • Engage in statistical methodology research, and

  • Represent the Biostatistics Department in various college and university committees.
