To teach undergraduate and graduate classes in Accounting (face-to-face and online), especially Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II and Advanced Financial Accounting classes, and other Accounting-related courses to adequately provide a good foundation in Accounting, and to prepare students for other classes within the department and the Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business. This position will teach three classes each fall and spring. This position will also serve on departmental, college, and university committees. This faculty member will maintain professional affiliations and contribute to professional activities. The person in this position must retain their scholarly academic qualifications. This position will mentor students and provide advice on professional endeavors. This position may require teaching at the nearby Fort Walton Beach campus of the university (approximately 50 miles east of the Pensacola campus).
Holds the highest degree appropriate to the field or possesses equivalent qualifications based on professional experience, and be otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities.
• Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in Accounting or a closely-related field, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting and a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service.
• Pertinent work experience, continuing professional development, and an active research agenda to maintain qualifications for performing teaching assignments.
• Relevant teaching experience, including proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching.
• Evidence of potential for quality scholarship, including publication in qualifying academic journals.
• Documented experience teaching Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, and Advanced Financial Accounting.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching as supported by one or more teaching awards.
• Employee must retain scholarly academic qualifications.
• Regardless of degree, it must be coupled with pertinent work experience, continuing professional development, and a robust research agenda.
• Coursework or work experience in Financial Accounting topics are desirable.
• Documented experience teaching Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, and Advanced Financial Accounting.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching as supported by one or more teaching awards.
