Job Description

The Assistant Production Manager will manage, plan, coordinate and supervise daily production operations. The role ensures that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and with the highest quality standards. They will manage production and operation employees, resources, and workflow and will formulate and implement manufacturing policies and programs to maintain and improve the competitive position and profitability of the operation.

ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:

  • Manage production capacity, targets and resources.
  • Manage and be actively operational within factory production team and ensure that all department personnel receive appropriate training and resources.
  • Precisely manage Export, including documentation, company and customer compliance, logistics, full order management and accommodate for regional regulatory compliance
  • Create and monitor department metrics on customer performance and efficiency.
  • Actively manage the Materials Coordinator and other team members in customer contacts, contract and purchase order requirements, planning, scheduling, etc.
  • Ensure all products are assembled and shipped as required to meet customer schedules and quality requirements. This will involve being actively and operationally involved where required.
  • Ensure all assembly procedures are maintained in a current and controlled status. This will involve being actively and operationally involved where required.
  • Actively develop and maintain Production Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety processes and procedures are adhered to in accordance with policies.
  • Continually evaluate and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Work with the Product Development team to evaluate the impact of new designs on the manufacturing processes. Determine the most efficient implementation of process changes to meet new production requirements.
  • Track employee performance and give employee appraisals at designated intervals.
  • Work alongside Human Resources to manage talent reviews and employee engagement within the team.
  • Continually review the workload of the department and evaluate staffing levels. This will involve being actively operational within the Team.
  • Develop department goals and create, document and initiate process improvements.

  • Create, lead and promote a positive work environment.
  • Follow all company policies and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
  • Over-time as required.
