Prairie Co-op is hiring an Assistant Produce Manager on a permanent Full-Time basis at our Food Centre in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK.

What you’ll do:

  • The Assistant Produce Manager is responsible for providing an exceptional level of customer service and maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and standards, including meeting established productivity standards.
  • Provides leadership to the team through scheduling and assigning work, coaching and motivating. Will be responsible for recruitment, training and development of employees with the assistance of the Fresh Food Manager.
  • Ensures prompt and efficient, and friendly customer service is provided at all times to maintain high customer service levels and ensure customer satisfaction is met.
  • Assist the Fresh Food Manager with the administration and achievement of budgeted department goals and financial targets.
  • Assist the Fresh Food Manager by providing support in brand initiatives.
  • Responsible for coordination and supervision of all applicable company policies and procedures.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

  • Have 1 year of experience in retail and/or customer service, with supervisory experience.
  • Grade 12 preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s License.
  • Ability to acquire PME certification, Foodwise, and First aid.
  • Knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin, and inventory management
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
