Assistant Principal � CTI
GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
The Assistant Principal will serve as a key instructional and administrative leader within CTI. Working collaboratively with the Principal, faculty, staff, students, families, component school districts, and community and industry partners, the Assistant Principal will support a high-quality educational environment that prepares students for college, careers, military service, and successful transition into the workforce.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to career readiness, instructional excellence, student achievement, equity, inclusion, and workforce development and will understand the unique instructional, operational, and student-support needs of a CTE setting.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
• Full-time, 12-month, tenure track, building-level administrative assignment.
• Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Required
• Valid New York State SBL Certification
• Successful experience in teaching and/or educational leadership.
• Demonstrated commitment to student achievement and instructional excellence.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred
• Administrative experience in a CTE, high school, BOCES, or career-focused educational setting.
• Experience with Career and Technical Student Organizations, particularly SkillsUSA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the Principal in developing, implementing, and monitoring the CTE school's instructional vision and strategic priorities.
• Conduct teacher observations and provide meaningful feedback and organizational expectations.
• Support teachers in implementing engaging, hands-on, standards-based instruction that reflects current industry practices.
• Promote instructional strategies that develop students' academic, technical, employability, and communication skills.
• Monitor curriculum, assessment, student performance, and instructional practices across CTE programs.
• Support professional learning and mentoring for new and experienced CTE teachers.
• Promote literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills within technical instruction.
CTE Program Leadership:
• Support the development and continuous improvement of CTE programs based on labor-market needs, industry standards, student interests, and community needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure programs maintain current equipment, technology, curriculum, certifications, and industry-aligned practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business, industry, postsecondary institutions, workforce organizations, and community partners.
• Support work-based learning opportunities, internships, clinical experiences, job shadows, apprenticeships, and other career-readiness experiences.
• Support student participation in SkillsUSA and other career and technical student organizations.
• Assist with program recruitment, enrollment, orientation, retention, and student placement activities.
EVALUATION The Assistant Principal's performance will be evaluated annually by the Principal
SALARY $105,000 - $117,000
