Compensation: $67,000 – $80,000 year-round salary, DOE, plus bonus opportunities

We are seeking leaders who are passionate about strengthening early elementary instruction and supporting teachers to ensure every student builds the foundational skills necessary for long-term academic success.
The Assistant Principal (Grades K–4) plays a key leadership role in supporting instructional excellence and school culture in early elementary classrooms.
This position focuses on developing strong foundational literacy and numeracy instruction, coaching teachers, and strengthening instructional practices to ensure students master essential academic skills during the early elementary years.
The Assistant Principal works closely with the campus principal and instructional leadership team to analyze student achievement data, support teacher development, and implement high-impact instructional practices aligned with network academic priorities.
This role requires a strong instructional leader who can support teachers through classroom observations, feedback cycles, professional development, and collaborative planning, while fostering a structured and supportive learning environment that promotes early academic success.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
Support implementation of high-quality instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and academic standards.
Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers.
Coach and mentor teachers to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes.
Support implementation of foundational literacy and numeracy practices across early elementary classrooms.
Data-Driven Academic Improvement
Analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps and instructional priorities.
Facilitate grade-level data discussions to inform instructional planning and targeted interventions.
Support teachers in implementing strategies that improve early literacy and mathematics outcomes.
Monitor student progress toward grade-level proficiency.
Teacher Development
Provide coaching and mentorship through observation, feedback cycles, and instructional modeling.
Support professional development aligned with early literacy, numeracy, and instructional best practices.
Assist in developing strong instructional teams and promoting teacher growth.
School Culture & Student Support
Promote a structured and supportive school culture grounded in high expectations.
Support systems that encourage positive student behavior and engagement.
Partner with staff and families to ensure students feel supported academically and socially.
Collaboration & Operations
Work closely with the Principal and network leadership to implement academic initiatives.
Support campus operations including scheduling, testing coordination, and compliance requirements.
Participate in leadership meetings and professional development aligned with network priorities.
Qualifications & Competencies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Minimum 3 years of successful K–8 classroom teaching experience, preferably in elementary education.
Demonstrated teacher leadership experience such as grade-level lead, mentor teacher, or instructional coach.
Proven success coaching teachers, conducting classroom observations, and supporting instructional improvement.
Experience using student achievement data to guide instructional decision-making.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in technology and data systems including Excel and academic performance platforms.
Commitment to preparing students from diverse or historically underserved communities for college and long-term success.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish-English)
Experience supporting English Language Learners
Experience teaching or leading instruction in early elementary grades (K–4)
Knowledge of Science of Reading and foundational literacy practices
Familiarity with instructional programs and assessments such as:
Open Court
Saxon
NWEA MAP
Corrective Reading

Experience supporting STEM learning within elementary instruction
