Working Pattern Full Time

Are you ready to provide proactive support to senior leadership and governors, ensuring the Academy operates effectively at the highest level? Join us as an Assistant Principal, where you will bring depth to the Leadership Team, focusing on two key 'Deeps' areas as assigned by the Principal, and actively contributing to the monitoring of teaching and learning quality across the Academy.

This role is ideal for an innovative leader flexible enough to manage the Academy on a day-to-day basis, especially during Senior Leadership Team (SLT) absences, while putting students first in every action.

You will work alongside the Principal/Vice Principals to ensure that the leadership and management of the academy operates at the most effective level possible. You will be an inspiring leader with the energy and creativity to lead, motivate and rapidly raise standards. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’. This role requires the successful candidate to be an outstanding teacher who has exceptional interpersonal skills and the drive to secure tangible levels of school improvement. You must have a passion for ensuring every child receives the very best level of education possible.

The Assistant Principal supports the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by contributing to the achievement of objectives and targets outlined in the Academy Development Plan, while also embedding all elements of the 'Deeps' and promoting synergy between two assigned areas. A central aspect of the role is maintaining depth within the leadership structure and assisting with the management of the Academy on a daily basis, particularly when other SLT members are unavailable.

This leader actively monitors the quality of Teaching and Learning across the Academy and takes responsibility for a specific management area, initiative, or project. Furthermore, the role involves championing the 'Every Child Matters' agenda, promoting equal opportunities, and contributing to staff development, research, and innovative practice.

As part of continuous professional development, the Assistant Principal will also serve as the Lead Member of SLT for one period each week, acting as the first line of response for Academy-wide issues.

Candidates must hold essential qualifications, including a Degree and a PGCE or equivalent. Crucially, applicants must possess up-to-date knowledge of educational theory and practice, coupled with a strong understanding of government guidelines on safeguarding. Extensive experience is required in both leadership and project management. The successful applicant will demonstrate the essential ability to work effectively to tight deadlines, exhibit innovative and progressive thinking, and possess the skills necessary to lead and work constructively within teams.

Desirable attributes include familiarity with "The Deeps," having a formal Leadership/Management Qualification/Course, and experience in conducting management investigations.
