Job Description

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $18.50 – $21.00 per hour, depending on experience

What You’ll Do

As a Press Assistant, you will support the safe and efficient operation of our flexographic presses by:

• Assisting with machine setup, including loading materials, preparing tools, and adjusting settings as directed by the Press Operator
• Supplying raw materials and components to maintain steady production flow
• Monitoring press operation and alerting the operator or supervisor to any issues
• Assisting with routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, replacing parts, and adjusting machine settings
• Troubleshooting minor mechanical issues under supervision
• Filling in or temporarily operating the press during shift changes or as needed
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Following all safety policies and wearing required PPE (hearing, eye, and foot protection)
• Completing production logs and documentation including output, downtime, and maintenance activities
• Collaborating with maintenance, quality, inventory, scheduling, and other production team members
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Skilled labor experience preferred
• No experience required; 1–2 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow instructions and complete production documentation
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts
• High noise levels
• Airborne dust
• Non-toxic ink and chemical odors
• Warm or humid conditions

Required PPE includes hearing protection, safety shoes, eye protection, and other equipment as needed.
