Nou Zenfan Bois Marchand is seeking an Assistant Teacher (Pre-Primary) dedicated to supporting the holistic development of children aged 3 to 5 years through a child-centred, play-based approach within a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will assist the Pre-Primary Teacher in implementing the National Curriculum Framework for Pre-Primary Education, supporting children's learning and wellbeing, preparing learning materials, maintaining a positive classroom environment, facilitating educational activities, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Pre-Primary Teacher in implementing the National Curriculum Framework for Pre-Primary Education through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Support children in the development of early literacy and numeracy skills through age-appropriate strategies and guided learning activities.
• Assist in promoting the development of essential pre-writing skills, including fine motor coordination, correct posture, and appropriate pencil grip.
• Help create and maintain a stimulating, safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.
• Observe and provide feedback on children's developmental progress and learning needs to the Pre-Primary Teacher.
• Support classroom management and ensure the wellbeing, safety, and supervision of children at all times.
• Prepare and organize teaching aids, learning materials, and classroom resources.
• Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate educational, recreational, and self-development activities during school holidays.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to support children's learning and development.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, and continuous professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with ECCEA requirements, school policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
• Cambridge School Certificate or an equivalent recognised qualification with at least a Pass or Credit in Mathematics, English, and French.
• Previous experience working with young children in a pre-primary school, daycare, nursery, or similar setting would be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of child development principles and child-centred learning approaches.
• Ability to support the teaching of foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, caring, and dedicated to supporting children's wellbeing and development.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and always uphold professional standards.
