The purpose of the Assistant Practice Manager role is to support the Practice Manager in coaching, leading and developing a high-performing practice team in a positive environment for both staff and patients, while also overseeing patient management, including greeting and welcoming patients, answering phone inquiries, making and confirming appointments and managing customer accounts.

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Strong leadership and administrative skills
• 2-3 years of senior health reception experience or a practice manager wanting to take a step back
• Willing to learn dental operations and grow within the role
• Experienced in business and people management
• Able to demonstrate excellent organisational, administrative, and time-management abilities
• Skilled in communication, interpersonal relations and customer service
• Capable of understanding financial performance, including generating income and managing costs
• Confident in handling challenging conversations and resolving issues promptly
• Comfortable engaging with a diverse range of people, from dentists and patients to practice teams
• Financial admin - daily takings, Medicare/HICAPS processing, treatment plan coordination.
• Staff support - onboarding, training and performance guidance.
• Healthcare compliance - solid understanding of infection control and regulatory requirements
• Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong business acumen
