Utah State Parks is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Park Manager to assist in overseeing operations at Yuba State Parks. Located in the beautiful center of Utah, this park offers one of the largest reservoirs in Utah, with five campgrounds surrounded by miles of beach and off-highway trails, and plays a vital role in the surrounding communities.
As Assistant Park Manager, you will supervise front-line staff, coordinate events, manage budgets, maintain and repair park facilities, and foster a welcoming environment for all visitors. If you enjoy variety, leadership, and working outdoors, this is the role for you!Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:Assisting the Park Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the park.
Providing education on park rules, OHV safety, and boating practices to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Performing facility and grounds maintenance, ensuring the park remains a clean, safe, and welcoming destination.
Supervising staff, including assisting in hiring, assigning workloads, providing training, and evaluating performance.

Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:A broad knowledge of park operations and programs.Skilled in performing facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance and repair.Understanding of accounting and budget management practices.Experience in supervising a seasonal staff.Strong work ethic and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:Skilled in utilizing computer systems, applications and software.Experience working in parks or an outdoor recreation setting. Cashier or retail money management experience. Knowledge of boating safety and the Aquatic Invasive Species program.Knowledge in OHV safety and regulationsAbility to do park maintenance in basic plumbing, electrical, irrigation and groundskeeping. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Weekend, evening, and holiday hours are required.
