Assistant/Associate Professor, Speech-Language Pathology
Position Type: Faculty Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor
Title: Assistant or Associate Professor Speech-Language Pathology
The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks a faculty member in speech-language pathology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualification and college promotion and tenure criteria.
UAMS is Arkansas’ largest basic and applied research institution, providing outstanding clinical services through the main campus as well as eight regional centers. UAMS includes seven institutes of excellence (i.e., Aging, Cancer, Eye, Myeloma, Spine & Neurosciences, Psychiatric Research, and Translational Research), and houses the Brain Imaging Research Center (BIRC) and the Voice and Swallowing Center. UAMS is a certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and is affiliated with the Central Arkansas Veterans Administration Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (both also located in Little Rock).

Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
Eligibility for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Eligibility for Speech-Language Pathology licensure in the State of Arkansas.
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
Three (3) or more years of experience in university teaching and student supervision.
Demonstrated record of scholarly research and academic productivity.
Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: multicultural and multilingual services, early intervention, pediatric feeding and swallowing, speech disorders, autism spectrum disorders, or special populations. Candidates with expertise in other specialty areas are also encouraged to apply.
Bilingual proficiency, with Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities
Teach graduate-level courses within the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program.
Mentor and supervise graduate student research, projects, and academic progress.
Develop and maintain an active scholarly and research agenda.
Assist with clinical education and student clinical supervision as assigned.
Advise and support graduate students throughout their academic program.
Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation activities.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical partners to support program goals and student success.
Engage in university, community, and professional service activities.
Contribute to departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
Support recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts for students and the Speech-Language Pathology program.
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department's mission and strategic goals.
