Title Assistant or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy Appointment Status Tenure Track Department IU Indianapolis Occupational Therapy – School of Health & Human Sciences Location Indianapolis Position Summary

The Occupational Therapy Program in the Department of Graduate Health Professions, School of Health & Human Sciences (SHHS) at Indiana University – Indianapolis invites applications for a 10-month tenure-track faculty position. The preferred start date is August 2027; however, an earlier start date may be considered based on candidate availability. Salary will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to teach and mentor both entry-level and post-professional OTD students. The Tenure rank faculty position will also be responsible for developing an active research agenda in their area of expertise, generate external funding, engage in online and classroom teaching, and provide school and university service.

The Occupational Therapy Program ranked by US News & World Report as #1 in the state and 23rd in the nation is part of a dynamic academic and research community that includes four programs in the Department of Graduate Health Professions (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Physician Assistant) eight departments in the School of Health and Human Sciences (SHHS), 15 research labs and institutes, and over 400 clinical and community partnerships.

Basic Qualifications

  • An earned PhD in a field relevant to occupational therapy, including but not limited to rehabilitation science, public health, behavioral health, or health education.
  • Potential for success in research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and grant funding.
  • Evolving program of research aligned with or complementary to the School of Health & Human Sciences.
  • Teaching experience in graduate education.
  • Hold or be eligible for occupational therapy licensure in the State of Indiana.
  • Current certification with National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
