
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice. Professorial rank is dependent upon record of academic and teaching success in addition to clinical expertise We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month full-time basis for a term of three years beginning November 1, 2026 or soon thereafter
Faculty on the Clinical Practice track are expected to demonstrate excellence in clinical care, professionalism, and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the broad spectrum of ambulatory clinical practice at UW Northgate clinic and provide inpatient obstetrical care at UWMC Northwest Hospital.Postive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates with recent direct practivce - based patient care experience in full spectrum family medicine.
The clinical full time equivalent (cFTE) will be 0.70 with an administrative component of 0.30.
Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Practice are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty on a 12-month service period are paid for 11 months of service over 12 months, allowing the equivalent of one month of paid time off.
The base salary range for Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice will be: $17,000-$19,416 per month ($204,000-$233,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualification or mandated by the U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The base salary range for Associate Professor of Clinical Practice will be: $18,333-$21,666 per month ($220,000- $260,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualification or mandated by the U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Salary ranges are inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the UW Physicians practice plan and a stipend for call coverage.
Reporting Structure
All Department of Family Medicine faculty report to the Department Chair. This position will also have accountability to the Family Medicine ResidencyProgramDirector and the Northgate Medical Director.
Position Responsibilities:
This appointment is for a core faculty position in the Department of Family Medicine Residency Program. Duties include direct ambulatory patient care and precepting residents at the UW Medicine Northgate clinic. Duties also include inpatient Family Medicine OB attending resonsibilties at UWMC Northwest Hospital. Core residency faculty provide direct teaching, advise learners and contribute to residency administration and curriculum.
Core resident faculty members are expected to have a significant role in the education and supervision of residents and must, as a component of their activities, teach, evaluate, and provide formative feedback to residents.
