
Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time, academic bariatric surgeon to join their growing division as the clinical practice expands to University Medical Center New Orleans (UMCNO).
The Bariatric team prides itself on its collaborative team approach and the successful candidate should be facile with advanced communication skills both with patients and with colleagues and referring physicians. A willingness to work hard to build his/her practice, with our support, at this new site, is essential. UMCNO offers the opportunity to provide excellent care for an underserved population with poor access to weight-loss procedures. A commitment to education, teaching both students and residents is required. Interest in expanding the robust clinical research in this division is encouraged.
The successful candidate will have completed an ASMBS accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive & Bariatric surgery. Experience in advanced endoscopic procedures as well as robotic surgery is preferred.
Candidates should be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
