Job Description

Job Purpose

The Assistant Operator supports daily field operations for Corod units by assisting with rig-up, rig-down, equipment handling, maintenance, and general operational activities at the well site. This position works under the supervision of the Operator, Rig Supervisor, or Field Supervisor and is responsible for following all company safety procedures while contributing to efficient and safe operations.

The role requires the ability to work in physically demanding environments, follow instructions, operate basic equipment and tools, and support the crew in completing field operations safely and efficiently.

Roles & Responsibilities

Participate in all daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) discussions.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Assist with rig-up and rig-down operations for Corod units.
Help load, unload, clean, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
Support Operators and Supervisors during daily field operations.
Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain equipment and work areas in clean, organized, and safe working conditions.
Assist with routine maintenance and inspections of equipment and vehicles.
Properly handle operational equipment during field activities.
Complete assigned paperwork, tickets, checklists, and operational documentation as required.
Remain available for field schedules and call-outs as operational needs require.
Maintain professional communication and teamwork with crew members and clients at the well site.
Follow all DOT and company driving requirements when operating company vehicles.
Perform all other duties assigned by supervisors within the physical limitations of the position.

Experience & Education

Required

0–2 years of experience in Oil & Gas field operations preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid CDL driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to work long hours, weekends, and rotational schedules when required.
Preferred

Previous experience with Corod units, pulling units, or workover rigs.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Forklift certification or other oilfield safety certifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

Basic mechanical aptitude.
Ability to safely use hand tools and basic equipment.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Basic understanding of oilfield safety practices.
Ability to react quickly and safely in operational environments.
Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented mindset.

Travel Requirement

This position may require frequent travel to field locations and extended time away from home depending on operational needs.
