Salary: Per certified contract - extracurricular schedule

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the nordic skiing, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment, physical fitness and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates successful practices and attends meets.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff in support of the Head Coach.
  • Encourage student participation and establish rapport.
  • Motivate participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
  • Work collaboratively with Head Coach, Activities Director, families and community resources.
  • Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.
  • Other duties as determined by the Head Coach.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Performs other related tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Possesses requisite knowledge of Nordic skiing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Willingness to accept and follow direction.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • General office skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
