Under the general supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is a twelve month position and will be responsible for successful execution in planning, developing and administering all phases of the men’s Basketball coaching and recruiting program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of intercollegiate coaching experience.

JOBDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruit and evaluate prospective student athletes;

• Assist in budget preparation and administration;

• Compliance with all NCAA, United Athletic Conference and institutional rules;

• Scout assigned opponents;

• Monitor academic progress toward degree;

• Assist head coach in practice and game preparation;

• Assist in daily workouts with individual players;

• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of NCAA, United Athletic Conference and University rules;

• Ability to work nights and weekends;

• Ability to travel extensively within the region and nationally for recruitment purposes;

• Knowledge of budgeting processes;

• Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University;

• Ability to drive and operate a vehicle;

• Must have the ability to rent a vehicle while on recruitment trips.
