Job Description

Purpose of Role

Assistant Marketing Communications Manager performs key functions of formulating effective public relations and marketing strategies; promoting the Hotel and its venues to targeted audience; building relationships with media and the community; developing online marketing and social media strategies in adherence to W core values and social media strategy.

Assistant Marketing Communications Manager will support Sales, Event Sales, Beverage & Food and AWAY Spa with their operations and promotional activities.

Assistant Marketing Communications Manager will interface with hotel management (Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager) to report on revenue statistics, personnel issues, PR performance, latest development in corporate guidelines and supervise hotel collaterals designs.

Responsibly Description

  • Define PR and marketing objectives, develop and implement PR and marketing strategies to meet hotel goals; including identifying and conveying W s positioning statement and key messages to targeted audience via effective channels and campaigns.
  • Assist Director of Sales & Marketing develop and manage annual department budget to effectively accomplish objectives.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with international, regional and local media in order to generate news-worthy publicity and media coverage. Identifies new media platforms and build new marketing partnerships.
  • Ensure that appointed PR / advertising / media buying agencies, graphic artist and printers (if any) perform and deliver products with W s image and standards.
  • Conducts periodic assessment for graphic artist and printer, make necessary recommendations.
  • Develop / approve all press informational materials and photography for regular distribution.
  • Assist with collation of material for newsletters and other communications vehicles, in particular, promote the hotel in general and special programmes.
  • Supervise, direct and edit (copy, design, layout) all collateral products graphic design (i.e. promotional flyer, brochures, menus, guest information pieces, signs, forms, invitation.)

  • Develop advertising (image and tactical) plans for Beverage& Food , Rooms and the Hotel.
  • Ensure that efforts are in accordance with Marriott Divisional and Hotel advertising guidelines, reach targeted markets and convey accurate messages.
  • Develop and oversee the production of all hotel collaterals in accordance to Brands Standards.
  • Develop and execute the unique W Happening events and depict W Happenings calendar and brand direction.
  • Create a positive and strong presence to targeted public (other than press) in the local community by involving management in civic and professional organisations, and establishing contacts with local leaders.
  • Help Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager create suitable community programmes.
  • Drive SPG awareness and via the Marriott channels.
  • Champion, grow awareness and drive enrolment of all Marriott loyalty programs.
  • Support hotel-wide training programmes to assure continuous Talent development and improve service quality.
  • To guide and develop subordinates.
