Duties & Responsibilities

Depot Operations

• Assists the Depot Manager to ensure that the Depot, dry and reefer cargo (empty and full), is fully functional and operational
• Controls variable expenditure within the depot operations
• Ensures serviceability of all handling equipment, empty and full
• Maintains and controls security requirements at the depot

Administration and Compliance

• Controls and meets the contractual agreements with clients, regulatory authorities / bodies
• Ensures effective administration procedures related to Depot operations

Health/Safety and Risk Management

• Maintains and controls security requirements for depot equipment and valuable asset
• Maintains a safe and healthy environment and ensures compliance with the safety regulations or standards

People Management

• Ensure that all depot employees are adequately trained
• Ensures that KPI’s are set and managed accordingly for all employees
• Ensures that the depot is adequately resourced
• Ensures that all policies and procedures are communicated
• Any disciplinary matters are dealt with effectively

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required for this position

• Relevant qualifications will be advantageous
• 5- 10 years of Shipping and Logistics Experience
• Previous management or supervisory experience essential.
