Sephora SEA’s omni channel business spans over 8 countries (Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) with 100+ stores and boasts some global flagships such as ION and Raffles City in Singapore, F88 in Kuala Lumpur and Pitt Street in Sydney. Sephora SEA is experiencing rapid growth in the region with new store openings and business channels (i.e., Click and collect and marketplace).

Assistant Manager, Visual Merchandising

As the Regional Assistant Manager, Visual Merchandising, your role is key in ensuring Sephora Collection brand is upheld and executed across the region for all countries in-store execution and fixture displays.

You will drive VM in the region; establishing regional visual merchandising plans and best practices to ensure consistency and standardization across our markets and delivering merchandising initiatives for Sephora Collection brand goals and vision.

You need to be a self-starter with a proactive and hands-on attitude with passion in retail, with up-to-date awareness in the advancement and development of the retail visual merchandising industry. An ability to thrive in an ever-changing and dynamic environment with professionalism, responsiveness and flexibility under critical pressure.

Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising

  • Drive Sephora Collection’s Regional Visual Merchandising execution across the region.
  • Work closely with the Category Senior Manager in terms of assortment and visual displays, resulting in optimal customer experience when shopping the brand and delivering the highest absolute profit per meter.
  • Be responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating the performance of merchandising projects against category goals and propose creative solutions to drive awareness and impact on brand sales.

Planogram Management

  • Manage the execution of all seasonal planograms from planning to execution for all countries.
  • Responsible for the coordination & tracking of grid procurement to deployment to stores.
  • Responsible for translating planograms to formats compatible for Space Planning team to ensure that Sephora Collection is updated in launch cycles—for all seasons, in all configurations.
  • Partner with the Global team to develop planograms for configurations & assortments that are specific to the SEA region.
  • Generate and maintain all aspects of planograms for fixtures only available in this region.

Fixture Management & Execution

  • Manage and drive timely brand fixture updates as well as planogram updates; from accurate fixture forecast to timely & complete execution based on calendar.
    • Guide country visual merchandising team and assigned vendor on validation of brands’ design proposal as well as ensure technical specifications are in adherence to Sephora guidelines.

  • Responsible for brands merchandising fixture and merchandising for new stores and seasonable updates across the region (SEA, Oceania and any future expansion in the region.
    • Work with Countries and Suppliers on fixture orders for new store opening in the region.
    • Responsible for disseminating fixture quotations to respective country for their respective market budget tracking and processing.
  • Drive reviews with country visual merchandising teams to identify and implement best practices.
  • Manage the execution in-store with the country visual merchandising team according to set objectives.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of vendor work execution & quality of implementation.
  • When necessary, review, establish, recommend, and support the negotiating of VM fixture designs and installation with Global team

Store Openings Support

  • Responsible for ensuring countries have the right fixtures and elements for new doors
  • Partner countries to create & test innovative projects/initiatives for the latest store concepts where necessary

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Ensure that countries follow the regional guidelines in terms of both fixture updates & maintenance
  • Monitor and manage appropriate use of VM assets and changes required by countries
  • Create reports to provide an overview to management of the executed initiatives
  • Partner closely with country visual merchandising team to enhance Sephora Collection merchandising & standardization.
  • Partner the Sephora Collection Marketing Team to develop best-in-class in-store animations

We would love to hear from you if you are/have…

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in visual merchandising, design or store projects management
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Fluent in Mandarin (able to read and speak) is a bonus as the main vendor is based in China
  • Degree/Diploma in design, arts and/or retail merchandising
  • Regional experience preferred
  • Strong communicator and relationship manager
  • Able to manage projects independently with proven results
