Position: Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Laboratory
Function: Laboratory / Testing / Quality / Product Validation
Location: Ensto India, Manesar, Haryana
Experience: A minimum of 3~5+ years of relevant experience in an electrical / electronics / power products testing laboratory or similar industrial test environment.
This role reports to the Laboratory Manager in India and works closely with product development, product management, quality, and manufacturing teams to plan, execute, document, and improve laboratory testing activities in line with applicable standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct electrical, mechanical, environmental, reliability, and product validation tests in a laboratory environment as per approved test plans, standards, and customer / internal specifications.
· Prepare, review, and maintain laboratory test procedures, work instructions, test records, and technical documentation with accuracy and traceability.
· Operate, monitor, maintain, and coordinate readiness of laboratory test equipment, fixtures, instruments, environmental chambers, and related testing facilities.
· Analyze test results, identify deviations or failures, support root cause analysis, and provide clear technical inputs to product development, quality, and product management teams.
· Ensure adherence to laboratory quality management systems, calibration plans, safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and applicable regulatory / industry requirements.
· Support continuous improvement in testing methods, equipment utilization, reporting formats, turnaround time, and overall laboratory efficiency.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams for test requirements, sample readiness, test scheduling, reporting, and closure of technical actions.
· Guide junior engineers / technicians where required and promote a safe, disciplined, and quality-focused laboratory culture.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
· B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
· Minimum 3~5+ years of relevant experience in a product testing laboratory, R&D test lab, quality validation lab, certification lab, or manufacturing industry test environment.
· Hands-on exposure to electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of industrial / electrical / power distribution / switchgear / connector / cable accessory / similar engineered products.
· Good understanding of testing methodologies, engineering principles, product specifications, calibration discipline, test documentation, and safety requirements.
· Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, IEC, IS, EN, UL, or relevant product standards will be an added advantage.
· Ability to troubleshoot test setups, identify equipment issues, interpret test data, and prepare structured technical reports.
· Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, ownership mindset, and commitment to accuracy, safety, and timely delivery.
· Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to coordinate effectively with local and global stakeholders.
· Proficiency in MS Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
· Preferred industries: Electrical products, power distribution, switchgear, cable accessories, connectors, utilities, product testing laboratories, certification laboratories, R&D, quality validation, or manufacturing organizations dealing with engineered electrical products.
