
The salary range for this position is CAD $38.88/Hr. - CAD $55.89/Hr.
Working in close partnership with the Manager of Quality, Standards, and Innovation, the Assistant Manager leads the identification, analysis, and implementation of both short‑term and long‑term quality improvement initiatives for environmental services across all Providence Health Care (PHC) sites.
The Assistant Manager builds and maintains strong customer and operational service relationships to ensure consistent, high‑quality performance aligned with established environmental service standards. They ensure that all environmental services procedures, protocols, and quality measures are implemented in accordance with organizational goals, policies, and regulatory requirements.
The Assistant Manager also communicates effectively with staff and key partners to support the adoption of environmental services standards and practices, fostering alignment on resources, responsibilities, and service expectations across the organization.
EducationDiploma in Environmental Management, Business Administration, or related field and five (5) to seven (7) years' related experience in a multi-site organization including experience with quality assurance programs and environmental services policy and procedures within healthcare settings, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Your Day-To-Day
Strategic planning support: Collaborates with Environmental Services and Quality leadership to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate short‑ and long‑term departmental goals aligned with PHC’s strategic direction.
Standards development and oversight: Ensures consistent application of PHC‑wide environmental services standards; develops, updates, and communicates best‑practice procedures that meet local, provincial, and national requirements.
Communication and change adoption: Establishes effective communication processes to promote visibility, understanding, and adoption of environmental services best practices among staff and stakeholders.
Training program leadership: Supports the design and delivery of core training programs; monitors staff participation; and coordinates access to required systems with internal departments and external vendors.
Quality assurance and auditing: Develops and implements audit processes to monitor compliance with standards and safety requirements, identifying gaps and supporting corrective actions.
Performance measurement and reporting: Collects, analyzes, and reports on environmental services quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance using KPIs and service level data to guide improvements.
Process improvement and stakeholder engagement: Leads structured improvement initiatives, maintains strong relationships with internal/external partners, supports customer satisfaction goals, and contributes to budgeting, resource planning, and committee representation.
