Job Description

The QA/QC Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting and maintaining Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems to ensure products consistently meet company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements. This role assists in managing quality operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing audits and inspections, leading corrective actions, and supporting compliance with industry regulations and quality management systems.
Candidates with experience in the cosmetic industry are strongly preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or GMP-regulated environments is also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance

· Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

· Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer specifications.

· Assist in preparing for and coordinating internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

· Develop, review, and maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.

Quality Control Operations

· Oversee inspection and testing activities for raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished goods.

· Review and approve quality records, inspection reports, and test results.

· Monitor product quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory and inspection equipment.

Investigation & Continuous Improvement

· Lead investigations related to product non-conformities, deviations, customer complaints, and quality incidents.

· Conduct root cause analysis using quality improvement tools and methodologies.

· Drive Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and verify effectiveness of implemented actions.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Supplier & Customer Quality Management

· Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and ongoing quality performance monitoring.

· Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and implement improvement plans.

· Respond to customer quality concerns and support resolution activities.

Leadership & Collaboration

· Provide guidance and technical support to QA/QC staff and cross-functional teams.

· Support employee training programs related to quality systems, GMP practices, and quality standards.

· Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

Education

· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related scientific discipline.

Experience

· Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Quality Management within a manufacturing environment.

· Experience supporting quality systems, audits, investigations, and CAPA programs.

· Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional quality improvement activities.

Technical Knowledge

· Quality Management Systems (QMS)

· Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA)

· CAPA Management

· Internal and External Audits

· Statistical Process Control (SPC)

· Regulatory Compliance and Documentation Management

· Microsoft Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in the cosmetic industry strongly preferred.

· Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, or GMP-regulated environments preferred.

· Knowledge of cosmetic regulations, GMP requirements, and product quality standards.

· Experience with ISO 9001, GMP, GLP, or other relevant quality standards.

· Supervisory or team leadership experience.

· Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related continuous improvement experience.

Preferred Certifications

· Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

· Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

· ISO 9001 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor

· Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

· GMP Training or Related Certification

Ideal Candidate Profile

A quality professional with solid experience in cosmetics manufacturing or pharmaceutical/GMP-regulated industries, possessing strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to lead quality initiatives and support operational excellence.

The anticipated compensation range is

15.00 - 47.00 USD Hourly

Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including qualifications, education, experience, and location. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
