What This Role is All About
The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager supports the execution and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across manufacturing processes. This role combines technical expertise, analytical thinking, and leadership to drive quality performance and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control (70%)

  • Support and sustain production processes to ensure consistent product quality
  • Lead investigations into quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Conduct and coordinate audits, inspections, and testing of materials, processes, and finished products
  • Maintain quality documentation (non-conformance reports, inspections, testing records, calibrations)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other regulatory standards
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and external partners to resolve quality concerns
  • Approve or reject procedures, specifications, and test results impacting product quality
  • Support internal audits and ensure alignment with QMS requirements

Leadership & Collaboration (30%)

  • Support and guide the QA team in daily operations and quality initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally to achieve quality objectives and resolve issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions
  • Facilitate meetings to review quality performance and improvement initiatives
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards

Your Skills & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in manufacturing environments (windows & doors industry is an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015 preferred)
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause methodologies (e.g., 8D)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and process discipline
  • Project management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • High integrity, accountability, and ownership mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office and manufacturing plant environment
  • Occasional site visits and extended hours as required
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures in plant operations
  • Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Flexible schedule with occasional weekend commitments.
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high expectations — suited for a DRIVER who takes OWNERSHIP.
