The Assistant Manager – Production Planning & Control (PPC) & Order Handling is responsible for managing and integrating production planning and customer order handling processes to ensure on-time delivery, accurate order fulfillment, and optimal utilization of resources. The role ensures seamless coordination between order receipt, production planning, execution, and dispatch while driving adherence to IMS standards and business objectives. Acts as SAP PP & SD end user ensuring seamless end-to-end order-to-production integration.
Internal Interfaces: Production & Assembly Teams, Purchase & Logistics, Quality Assurance, Order Handling / Marketing, Maintenance & Engineering
External Interfaces: Intercompany Supply Units, Vendors, Customers (via Order Handling team)
3.1 Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and guide PPC & Order Handling team members
Allocate work and ensure timely execution of tasks
Participate & contribute in global network meetings for improvements

Daily planning reviews
Shortage review meetings
Backlog discussions
Provide technical guidance on:
SAP PP & SD processes

3.2 Production Planning & Control
- Guiding the team - Plan, schedule, release and monitor production orders in SAP aligned to customer delivery commitments.
- Track WIP, backlog and ensure adherence to production plan
- Participate in daily production meetings and drive action on deviations
3.3 Order Handling & Fulfillment Management
- Align production plan with confirmed customer orders and committed delivery dates
- Validate order feasibility based on material and capacity availability
- Support order prioritization based on business criticality
- Handle delivery escalations in coordination with Order Handling team
3.4 Material Planning & MRP
- Analyze the MRP and ensure material availability for order fulfillment
- Coordinate with purchase and logistics teams to resolve shortages
- Overview of forecast & its correction for effective planning.
3.5 Capacity & Work Center Management
- Coordinate with Production team for capacity adjustment in SAP.
- Identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions
3.6 Inventory & KANBAN Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels with focus on customer delivery performance
- Implement and improve Kanban systems/Planning automation where applicable
- Manage Inventory turn ration & other KPIs related to Inventory
3.7 MIS & Reporting
- Track Production performance, backlog, delivery performance and planning accuracy
- Prepare management dashboards and reports
3.8 Cross-functional Coordination
- Act as key interface between PPC, Production, Order Handling & Marketing team
- Ensure clear communication of delivery commitments
3.9 Compliance, Quality & IMS
- Ensure compliance with IMS standards and support audits
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Electronics)
13–16 years of experience in PPC & Order Management in manufacturing
Strong hands-on experience in SAP PP is mandatory
Technical Skills: PPC, MRP, SAP PP, Order Management, Capacity Planning
IT Skills: Advanced Excel, SAP reporting tools, Power BI, SAP Analytics, VBA Excel Macros
Behavioral Skills: Leadership, coordination, customer focus, analytical thinking
Adherence to all applicable EHS policies and safe working practices
