REQ14232 Assistant Manager, Pool & Gym (Open)

Assistant Manager, Pool & Gym is responsible for effectively managing and operating Pool and Gym area and its facilities as well as all resources, delivering the unique brand standards and its service level to eventually realize a positive financial result. Maintain high level cleanliness and condition of the area, organize various wellness events and activities regularly, and drive revenue through membership, retail, activities and personal training development. Assistant Pool & Gym Manager has to have a strong sense of business acumen and luxury sense of service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare annual business plans, business forecasts and marketing in conjunction with other business units.
  • Ensure the department’s operational budget is in line with the business level and costs are controlled.
  • Utilise yield management techniques to maximise revenues.
  • Maintain a strong menu of exciting and trendy services and programmes.
  • Adjust and create and offer variety of different activities packages and programs to excite the market.
  • Be responsible for supervising the day to day operation of the gym and pool
  • Conduct regular operational meeting with area employees.
  • Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring and guidance to the team members.
  • Place emphasis on the skills training and development of team members for succession.
  • Conduct regular review on employee’s performance and their developments.
  • Formulate and update policies and procedures for the departments together with the team members.
  • Ensure all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the established policies & procedures and standards of hygiene and grooming.
  • Ensure the property presentation is consistent with established standards.
  • Achieve via regular inspections and audits, and liaison with relevant support departments.
  • Develop a continuous maintenance plan and track / report on its implementation.
  • In constant pursuant of higher standards and requirements for units.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Public Relations departments to establish a promotion schedule.
  • Be responsible for delivering different brand promises for each of the facilities. Understand the guest and product profile.
  • Guide business decisions by staying on top of fitness industry trends.
  • Maintain close contact with guests and members, receiving feedback regarding the operation of the pool and gym facilities of the hotel.
  • Embrace the diversity of our guests by building in a level of flexibility to the product and service that caters to different needs.
  • Maintain regular contact with our internal customers, in particular VIP Gaming Hosts.
  • Prepare periodic reports with analysis to senior management on the activities and usage of the pool and gym facilities, services and activities.
  • Utilise reports to activate high level strategies that drive positive change in KPI’s.
  • Provide regular business analysis to management and the approach to have stronger market share.
  • Maintain consistent logs and reports on daily business to establish trends in the market.
  • Ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform at all times.
  • Conduct employee evaluations for all spa positions, to review existing performance and identify any areas for further development and improvement.
  • Interview potential new employees in liaison with the Human Resources Department.
  • Supervise departmental orientation programs for new employees.
  • Conduct training courses for new employees and a regular “refresher” course for existing employees.
  • Ensure that our employees understand our brand culture, and deliver the relevant service to guests.
  • Through leadership and supervision encourage behaviours that promote health and safety responsibility, accountability and awareness.
  • Through consultation and involvement of employees promote an environment where workplace hazards are minimised and the health and safety of employees is valued.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, unsafe work conditions and / or security issues to the management.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by management from time to time.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-year experience in the relevant Management in supervisory position.

Education

  • Degree or diploma in related discipline.
  • Post graduate qualification in spa management or hospitality.

  • Familiar with analysing and preparing financial reports.

  • Ability to work on flexible shift including overnight, weekends and holiday on rotation basis.
