The payroll resources ensure all elements of payroll are completed accurately and timely, providing analytical and research support for account reconciliations and problem resolutions. This position involves researching, testing, and implementing required changes related to system updates, processes, and policy changes.
Looking for candidates with strong accounting fundamentals and working knowledge of payroll, who can manage payroll processing, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Payroll Processing: Calculate and process salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions (tax, benefits) in a timely manner.
• Compliance & Tax: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws; prepare and submit payroll tax reports.
• Accounting: End to end accounting with payroll.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Support month‑end close activities related to payroll accounting, Post payroll journals and ensure accurate mapping in the general ledger.
• System Administration: Update and maintain payroll software, including employee data, hires, terminations, and leave tracking.
• Reporting & Auditing: Generate reports for management review and participate in payroll audits.
• Employee Support: Resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies efficiently
• Systems & Process Improvement: Work on payroll systems and ERP tools such as ADP, Oracle, JDE (or equivalent).
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in finance with 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• Experience in multi entity or shared services environment preferred.
• Exposure to global payroll or multiple geographies is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of MDNA & controller deck summary.
• Data extraction and manipulation experience using various tools, and excellent Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations, and procedures.
• Analytical & problem-solving skills with high attention to detail & confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Focus on accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines
• Team-oriented with the capacity and willingness to embrace frequent updates to policies, procedures, and technology.
• Ability to recognize basic procedural issues as they arise and escalate to the appropriate level.
