We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager Operations – EQ Clearing and Settlements.

HSBC Derivatives Clearing Services Operations (DCS) Cash Team is seeking a resource replacement that would be responsible in ensuring settlement of HSBC margins against the Central Counterparty Clearing House (CCP).

The role holder will join the DCS Operations Cash function and collaborate closely with stakeholders across multiple locations. They will work in partnership with these teams to identify and address business issues and operational gaps arising in day-to-day activities.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the operational processing environment contained within a Clearing Broker for Listed and OTC Cleared Products.

This role carries decision-making responsibility within the scope of the tasks assigned, including contributing to the design of solutions to address control gaps. The role holder is expected to work independently and form well-reasoned, evidence-based judgements.

Principal responsibilities

  • Perform daily payments and withdrawals to fulfill HSBC margin requirements to various Central Counterparty Clearing House (CCP)
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks, analysis and reporting as required by the business
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different locations to address operational gaps
  • Represent the team in meetings and discussions with other stakeholders in the absence of their Manager or when needed
  • Ensure accurate processing of vouchers or ledgers to reflect interests, fees or charges associated to margins
  • Initiate process improvements to reduce manual processes within the team
  • Execute daily margin-related payments and withdrawals to meet HSBC requirements with various Central Counterparties
  • Process vouchers and ledger entries accurately to reflect interest, fees, and other margin-related charges
  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple locations to identify and resolve operational issues and control gaps
  • Drive process improvements to reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency within the team

Requirements

  • Understanding the HSBC Futures offering and capabilities
  • Experience in Exchange Traded Derivatives and Cleared OTC derivatives is required
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • Solid operational risk and control mindset; able to make decisions when needed
  • Strong performance rating in previous job to showcase skill set
  • Initiated a process improvement in previous job or participated in a wider project with direct impact to the business
  • Ability to capably interface with a broad range of resources at various levels of seniority / experience and role diversity in multiple geographies
  • Strong risk assessment, control and testing skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion, work independently within broad guidelines, tactfully handle sensitive and confidential data and complete assignments on timely basis
