CHP Construction & Project Execution

• Execute and monitor mechanical construction activities related to Coal Handling Plant (CHP) systems.
• Supervise erection, alignment, installation, testing, and commissioning of CHP equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and internal stakeholders for project execution.

Coal Handling Plant Systems

• Supervise erection and commissioning of:
• Belt Conveyors
• Stacker Reclaimers
• Wagon Tipplers
• Track Hoppers
• Crushers
• Vibrating Feeders
• Paddle Feeders
• Trippers
• Magnetic Separators
• Metal Detectors
• Dust Suppression Systems
• Dust Extraction Systems
• Transfer Houses
• Conveyor Galleries
• Silos and Bunkers

Mechanical BOP & Balance Plant Areas

• Oversee construction of associated mechanical systems and utilities.
• Ensure proper installation and alignment of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, drives, and material handling systems.
• Coordinate interface activities between CHP, Boiler, and BOP packages.

Testing & Commissioning

• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of CHP systems.
• Conduct no-load and load trials of conveyors and associated equipment.
• Ensure punch point closure and system readiness for plant operation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with Operations and O&M teams.

Quality & Safety Management

• Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and construction procedures.
• Implement PTW, LOTO, HIRA, and site safety requirements.
• Participate in safety audits, quality inspections, and contractor reviews.
• Promote zero-accident and zero-harm work culture.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with OEMs and contractors for timely execution.
• Monitor contractor productivity and work quality.
• Track material availability and construction resource requirements.
• Verify contractor measurements and work completion.

Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor progress against project schedules and construction milestones.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Highlight risks, delays, and corrective action plans.
• Support project documentation and commercial coordination.

Essential Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

5–8 Years of relevant experience in Thermal Power Project Construction.

Mandatory Experience

• Must have hands-on experience in Coal Handling Plant (CHP) Construction Projects.
• Experience in erection, testing, and commissioning of CHP equipment in 300 MW+ thermal power plants.
• Exposure to Greenfield or Brownfield thermal power projects.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience from Adani Power, NTPC, Tata Projects, L&T, BHEL, ISGEC, Power Mech, SEPCO, TRF, McNally Bharat, Elecon, thyssenkrupp, FLSmidth, JSW Energy, Vedanta, Jindal Power, or other thermal power EPC organizations.
• Strong experience in construction and commissioning of CHP systems for thermal power plants.
• Exposure to 600 MW, 660 MW, 800 MW or larger thermal power projects preferred.
• Proven track record in CHP project execution, contractor management, safety compliance, and commissioning support.
