Job Description

At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

About the Role

Are you an execution-focused marketer who thrives on turning business goals into impactful strategies? As the Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications, you’ll be a vital engine within the Business squad. Working under the leadership of the Associate Director, Advisory Marketing, you will be fiercely accountable for supporting the projects and initiatives that power our expert advisory verticals. If you love working in a collaborative structure, partnering across teams, and executing integrated marcom plans that deepen client relationships, you’ll find this role both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Accountabilities

  • Activating Marketing Impact: Working closely with the vertical lead for Business Banking and other members of the Business Squad in an Agile Scrum structure, you will contribute directly to integrated marcom plans that drive business growth and elevate the client experience. By using data, client, and competitive insights, you'll provide foundational marketing expertise on how and which solutions we leverage to start, deepen, and grow relationships.
  • Supporting Strategy in Action: You'll be the hands-on professional who assists in the creation of marcom plans and takes ownership of activating key components. From coordinating creative briefings and securing approvals to navigating channel selection and tracking the KPIs that determine success, you ensure our plans are executed seamlessly.
  • Tracking Results with Insight: You thrive on understanding how well our campaigns perform. You will support - and occasionally lead - the development, implementation, and evaluation of marcom plans to ensure deliverables are achieved within budget and deadlines. You will monitor results against the broader strategy, highlighting key learnings to help the team analyze, report, and optimize effectiveness.
  • Building Partnerships: You are a collaborator at heart. You will partner with business stakeholders to provide execution expertise on audience targeting, key messaging, and channel optimization, while actively coordinating with cross-organizational partners to get our programs successfully across the finish line.
  • Embracing Agile Growth: Aligned with other members of our advisory marketing team, you’ll bring a growth mindset to everything you do. We look to you to constantly seek out improvements, challenge the status quo, and bring fresh, new ideas to the table to positively fuel our marketing outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Your Marketing Toolkit: You bring a solid 3-5 years of relevant marketing experience to the table, backed by an undergraduate degree or certificate in Business, Marketing, or a related field. You have a strong foundational understanding of marketing tactics across media platforms - from initial campaign execution to managing the marketing mix and measuring success. Financial services marketing experience is a big plus here!
  • A "Client-First" Lens: You intuitively understand that great marketing starts with the client. You are client-centric and skilled at uncovering insights from customers, stakeholders, brand, and data. You have demonstrated experience using customer personas, journey maps, and research to minimize pain points and better meet client needs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Whether you are coordinating a creative brief or updating a stakeholder, your communication is clear, structured, and effective. You excel at listening, building strong team bonds, and bringing together cross-functional partners to row in the same direction.
  • Project Management Pro: You handle competing priorities and tight deadlines easily. You have strong project management and team-building skills, alongside a proven track record of managing deadlines consistently with a high degree of organization.
  • Agile Mindset and Continuous Learning: You enjoy the fast-paced, collaborative nature of an Agile Scrum structure. A working knowledge of tools like Jira is considered a strong asset! More importantly, you possess a demonstrated commitment to your own ongoing professional development to ensure your marketing plans remain innovative.

Workplace Arrangement

This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1 day on-site per week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
