We are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Manager to support daily operations at our busy lumber yard. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a solid work ethic, and experience in retail, construction materials, or yard operations. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Manager to ensure efficient operations, excellent customer service, and a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations, including inventory management and order fulfillment
  • Supervise and support staff, ensuring productivity and safety standards are met
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and loading
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate stock replenishment
  • Help train new employees and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized store/yard
  • Step in to manage operations in the absence of the Manager

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in lumber, building materials, or a related industry preferred
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment (or willingness to be trained)
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and sales systems


Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
