Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts and our Lift Operations team is no exception to this experience of a lifetime. Responsible for the safe operation of resort lifts, Lift Operations Team Leaders are courteous and efficient guest service champions with a proven ability to lead.

This position serves as the primary frontline leader for Lift Operators and Scanners, providing coaching, training, direction, and support while maintaining operational excellence. The Assistant Managers plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a positive team environment.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $25.00 -$32.14
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age
  • Housing Availability: Yes

Job Responsibilities:

Daily Operations

  • Lead daily lift operations within assigned areas.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments and support scheduling needs.
  • Oversee opening, operating, and closing procedures for assigned lifts.
  • Ensure operational readiness throughout the day.

Employee Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and support Lift Operators and Scanners.
  • Provide regular feedback, recognition, and performance coaching.
  • Promote accountability and adherence to departmental standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all employees follow established safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable regulations and operational requirements.
  • Identify and address operational hazards and safety concerns.
  • Support emergency response procedures when necessary.

Guest Experience

  • Serve as a resource for guest questions and concerns.
  • Resolve guest issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Model outstanding guest service and encourage the same from team members.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Ski Patrol, Mountain Safety, Lift Maintenance, Lift Electrical, and other operational departments.
  • Support department initiatives and operational goals.

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of lift or mountain operations experience
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Ability to safely perform physical job requirements, including assisting guests and lifting up to 40 pounds

Preferred

  • Previous supervisory, leadership, or training experience
  • Knowledge of resort lift operations and guest service standards
  • Experience coaching and developing employees

The expected pay range is $25.00 -$32.14. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
