We're Lick Honest Ice Creams and have been producing the finest, locally sourced, seasonally inspired ice creams in Austin since 2011! We work hard and get rave reviews from media around the country. We are rapidly expanding and looking for outgoing, happy, responsible, and positive individuals who love ice cream as much as we do to join our ice cream shop family!

The role of the Assistant Manager is second in command to the Shop Manager and assists the Manager in executing daily operations, procedures, staff supervision and customer experience of the shop. This person, like all members of management, is essentially an extension of the owners, supporting their business goals of assuring happy and satisfied customers, friendly, knowledgeable and dependable employees and an exciting, unique and fulfilling experience for both fellow employees and customers. This person reports to the Shop Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer engagement. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Supervise the staff during your assigned shift
• Enforce opening and closing and shift change procedures
• During closing shifts, count drawer and correctly prepare deposits, drawer fund and reserve funds
• Assist shop manager with preparing change orders and deposits for the bank
• Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Lick Honest Ice Creams and what makes our ice cream unique, and share this knowledge with staff and customers
• Aid owners and shop manager in maintaining staff knowledge base for new flavors, preparation methods, etc.
• Monitor staff and report any staff issues directly to Shop Manager
• Enforce schedule and punctuality
• Assist shop manager in identifying training needs and providing ongoing training opportunities to the team as needed
• Monitor staff knowledge, scoop sizes and employee/customer interaction and guide staff as necessary
• Assist shop manager with interviewing and new hire onboarding
• Assist shop manager with scheduling and performance reviews
• Identify any customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to correct them
• Coach and support new and existing scoopers, shift leaders and cone makers
• Assist shop manager with disciplinary action with employees
• Follow and enforce company uniform policy
• Follow and enforce all policies and procedures outlined in the company handbook
• Ensure safe environment within shop by monitoring employee actions and customer behavior
• Bring others together and try to reconcile differences
• Perform all other related duties as requested
• Maintaining privacy in regards to alarm codes, safe codes and all other confidential information
• Check company email once a day
• Act as primary supervisor in Shop Manager’s absence (vacation, time off, etc.)

Essential Functions

• Maintain a flexible schedule based on shop needs
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally with team members (face to face or by telephone)
• Able to read and comprehend written material
• Able to stand for shifts lasting up to but not limited to 6 hours of time on concrete flooring
• Perform tasks which involve repetitive motion including, but not limited to, arms, hands, wrists, back
• Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
• Lift up to 50# of product
